Window Cleaning In The City

This weeks topic on Foto Finish is 'Things In The City'. This photo was taken in May when we were on holiday on the Gold Coast in Australia. I like the reflection of the trees in the windows.

I have been looking after my 20 month old granddaughter for the last 3 days. I had forgotten how tiring it is to look after children full time. Luckily she is really easy going and fun to have around. We have been visiting her mum and baby brother twice each day. My daughter-in-law had a C-section so has to stay in hospital for a few days. Olivia is going home with her dad tomorrow and hopefully mum will be home the next day.

Great photo! I always forget to look up. I know what you mean about being tired. I babysit my 11 month old granddaughter two days a week. I really enjoy my time with her. Have fun with yours!

Great shot. Glass buildings offer such great opportunites for neat shoots.

The reflections are very cool! Nice job too, catching the window washer/worker hanging there too.

I love this image. I always wonder how these window washer guys have the nerve to hang there like they do.

Two Years Of 12 x 12 Art Quilts

A group of local quilters has recently completed two years of making 12" x 12" art quilts -completing one every two months working to a selected theme for each one.  I really enjoyed this experience and am now taking part in a 20" x 15" challenge working to colour themes.  We have three months to complete these.

Here are some of my 12 x 12 quilts
"Spring"
"Vintage"
"Temptation"  -my idea for this was "The Grass Is Always Greener" and it is made in my favourite style of sewing small crumbs of fabric together. "Perspective" "Nursery Rhyme" - "Rain Rain Go Away" "Autumn"
I will need to track down some of the other images on my computer and will put them in another post.
It has been a long time since I last posted but we have been having a conversation about blogging in an on line group I belong to and it has inspired me to have another go at this.

Light Up Your Landscape - Gloria Loughman Class

A couple of weeks ago I took part in my first ever quilt class.  It was run by Gloria Loughman http://www.glorialoughman.com/
I thoroughly enjoyed the class and am delighted with what I have produced.  I am not going to bind it but rather put facings on the back as Gloria taught us.  This was the first time I had used a walking foot.
There were 20 in the class and we all produced very different pieces.  I am noe keen to get her books and try some of her other methods of constructing quilts.
