Patterns

Tyre patterns in the sand at Mokau. Tommorrow we are off to Mokau for a few days. Mokau is a small seaside settlement an hour north of where we live in New Plymouth. We have a bach (holiday home) in Mokau and at this time of year we spend a lot of time whitebaiting. The forecast is good for the next week so hope to get in lots of beach walks and plenty of reading.

Fun with Scraps

Where to from here? I have been having fun putting this together. It started out as a block for "Block Lotto" but as it did not have enough contrast between the background and star I decided to slash the block and insert the navy strips. This was a result of looking at posts on another fabulous site "15 Minutes of Play". I really love the concept of this group using your scraps to create something different by playing and trying out things you may not necessarily try with your better fabric. I decided to include some smaller variable stars in he next round of fabric. The fun part came with using scraps to create the next strip. I am loving the citrc colours and will have to decide where to go now with this quilt. It is around 55cm (21 1/2in) square at the moment.
