I had one self seeded opium poppy plant come up this year. I am not sure where it came from but I was happy to have this beautiful plant in my garden.

That is a beautiful flower. I can see why you were happy to have it come up. I've had birds deposit hollyhock seeds before. Maybe they gifted you with this lovely flower.
